What to expect from Meșteshukar ButiQ at Romanian Design Week 2018?

This year is about originality, uniqueness, freshness, unconventionality, innovation and in one word: novelty.
RDW is a very important milestone for our craftsmen and at this edition we have “NEW“ written all over the place.

What to expect from MBQ at RDW?
We have new collections with new techniques, new materials and in collaboration with new designers.

In the CENTRAL EXHIBITION:
Our focus collection is called MBQ Home Decor 18 – Contrasts of Materials, Contrasts of Crafts. The Contrasts of Life.
We challenged traditional craftsmen to work together with modern craftsmen and, through experimentation and design, create a new craft. One part is new and brings the efficiency of machines and technology while the other part is ancient and gives products their soul and uniqueness.
This contrast of techniques and materials took form primarily in the imagination of product designer Radu Abraham and was brought to life in the MBQ workshops and will be put in front of an audience for the first time at this year’s Romanian Design Week. Main items are fruits plates and flower vases made of copper, brass and wood.

Enchant & Delight is a Jewelry Collection created in collaboration with Romanian designer Adina Marin.
The collection regards the Roma women in the modern society as a cultural and social impact for the artistic representation. Every piece of jewelry in the collection tells the story of a Roma woman or girl who made a statement in the artistic field which reverberated in the social conscience of men.

We invite you to celebrate what the past three years have meant for Roma craftsmanship and, especially, to celebrate what is to come. The Anniversary Party will take place on Thursday, the 24th, 6pm in our shop.
